SMS Messaging Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: September 29, 2026 • Bright Canoe Transactional Notifications Program
1. Program Overview & Identification
Bright Canoe operates a transactional SMS program ("Bright Canoe Notifications") designed to keep clients and hosts informed regarding upcoming scheduled appointments, class reservations, waitlist advancements, and critical schedule modifications.
2. Specific Path for Mobile Opt-In (Call-to-Action)
Users opt in to receive SMS notifications through a clear, transparent web form during the appointment scheduling or class registration process (such as at brightcanoe.com/demo or any host booking page).
- The end-user selects an appointment date and time.
- The end-user enters their name, email address, and mobile phone number.
- An optional, unselected checkbox is presented immediately adjacent to the mobile phone field.
- The user voluntarily checks the box to opt in to transactional messaging.
Note: Opt-in is completely voluntary and is never a condition of booking, purchasing, or using any service on Bright Canoe.
3. Message Frequency Disclosure
Message frequency varies depending on your appointment and scheduling activity. Clients typically receive:
- 1 confirmation text immediately upon scheduling.
- 1 reminder text 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting or class.
- 1 final reminder text 1 to 2 hours prior to start time.
- Occasional transactional alerts only if an appointment is rescheduled, cancelled, or if a waitlist spot opens.
4. Rates and Charges Disclosure
Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Bright Canoe does not assess fees for sending text messages, but standard charges from your mobile carrier (such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, or regional providers) may apply. If you have questions about your text or data plan, please consult your wireless service provider.
5. Opt-Out Instructions (STOP)
You can revoke consent and cancel the SMS service at any time. Simply text or reply STOP to any message you receive from us. You will receive one final text message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. Following that confirmation, no further text messages will be sent to your number unless you re-subscribe by replying START or by opting in again on an appointment booking form.
6. Help and Customer Care Instructions (HELP)
If you experience any difficulties, need assistance, or have questions about our messaging service, reply HELP to any message you receive. You may also contact our customer support team directly at support@brightcanoe.com or visit brightcanoe.com.
7. Carrier Disclaimer
Wireless carriers (including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and local affiliates) are not liable for delayed, misdirected, or undelivered messages. Delivery of text messages is subject to effective transmission from your mobile network operator.
shield 8. Privacy Policy & Strict Prohibition on Mobile Data Sharing
We respect your personal privacy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS consent are utilized exclusively to dispatch transactional notifications and confirmations requested by the user. For complete details on how your information is handled, please review our full Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
